Director of Operations of European Commission for Humanitarian Aid, Jean-Louis de Bruyer, expressed his shock at dire humanitarian situation that Yemen has reached as a result of the continuation of the war.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Habtoor and ministers of public health, water and environment in Sana’a.

Bruyer confirm that solution in Yemen must be political and urgent to stop this human tragedy.

European Commission’s Director of Operations expressed readiness of European Union to provide humanitarian assistance and contribute to any steps that would restore security, stability and peace in Yemen, pointing to European Commission’s keenness on rehabilitating health sector to enhance the role of this sector in the service of Yemeni society.

For his part, Prime Minister referred to overall situation and repercussions of Yemeni people in economic, health aspects since the beginning of aggression against Yemen, including the continuation of unjustified air embargo imposed on Sana’a International Airport. Aggression Coalition rejected all international calls to lift ban, In Hodeidahś port .

Dr. Habtoor expressed the appreciation of Higher Political Council and the Government of National Salvation for humanitarian efforts of European Commission, United Nations organizations ,regional and international relief agencies to alleviate situation and humanitarian needs of Yemeni people. Expressing his hope to expand this assistance to all areas of Yemen and in line with increasing needs in areas of relief, humanitarian and medical, according to official news agency “Saba.”
